Speech is produced on your device — nothing is uploaded. Available voices come from your operating system.

Text to speech — read any text aloud, on your device

Type or paste text and have it read aloud using your device's built-in voices. It runs entirely in your browser (0 uploads, works offline) — nothing is sent anywhere.

How to use it

  1. Type or paste your text.
  2. Pick a voice, and adjust rate and pitch.
  3. Press Speak — playback happens on your device. Stop any time.

FAQ

Does my text get uploaded?

No. Speech is produced by your operating system's voices through the browser's built-in Speech API. The page makes no network requests, so your text never leaves your device.

Why are the voices different on each device?

The available voices come from your operating system and browser, so the list and quality differ between Windows, macOS, Android and iOS. Install more system voices to get more options.

Can I download the audio?

Not directly — the Web Speech API plays audio but doesn't expose a file. For a downloadable recording, play it and capture with the voice recorder tool.

Does it work offline?

Yes, with the voices already installed on your device. Some browsers offer extra online voices that need a connection, but the built-in ones work offline.

Limits

Voice selection and quality depend on your device. Very long text is capped; split large documents into parts.
