How do I make a placeholder image for free?
Set the size and colours and this page draws a placeholder with the dimensions labelled on it, exported as a PNG — on your device with no upload and no third-party placeholder service.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The image is generated entirely in your browser and nothing is transmitted or stored, which you can verify by turning off your Wi-Fi.
Why not use an online placeholder service?
Those require a network request per image and can disappear. This generates the image locally, so it works offline and never leaks what you are mocking up.
What sizes can I make?
Any size up to a sensible maximum, in your chosen background and text colours.
Limits
Draws a solid colour with the size label; custom text and patterns are not included in this version.
