How do I merge PDF files for free without uploading them?

Add your PDFs on this page and click Merge — the whole thing runs in your browser using an on-device PDF engine, so no file is uploaded and there's no sign-up or watermark. It even works with your Wi-Fi off after the first visit.

Is there a limit on how many PDFs or how big they can be?

You can merge up to a 500 MB total per batch, which is hundreds of ordinary documents. Very large scans are handled sequentially so your browser stays responsive; split enormous batches into groups if you hit the cap.

Are my documents safe — does anything get uploaded?

No. The merge happens entirely on your device and nothing is stored or transmitted. That is why it works offline. For sensitive files (bank statements, contracts, medical scans) this is the safest way to combine them.

Why does it say a file "isn't a readable PDF"?

The file is either not a PDF or is password-protected. Remove the password (open it and re-save without protection) and add it again. Every file in the batch must be an unlocked PDF.

Does merging change the quality of my PDFs?

No. Pages are copied as-is into the new document — text stays selectable and images keep their resolution. Merging only concatenates; it never re-compresses your pages.

Limits

Merges unlocked PDFs by concatenating their pages in your chosen order. It does not split, compress, or unlock password-protected files, and it does not reorder individual pages within a file — reorder at the file level before merging.
