FAQ
How do I generate hreflang tags for free?
List each language and its URL, one per line, and this page emits the matching link rel="alternate" tags with the right hreflang values, plus an x-default if you provide one — on your device with no upload.
What is x-default for?
It tells search engines which URL to show users whose language or region does not match any of your specific versions — usually a language selector or your primary market page.
Is my input uploaded anywhere?
No. The tags are generated entirely in your browser and nothing is transmitted or stored, which you can verify by turning off your Wi-Fi.
Where do the tags go?
In the head of each page, and ideally every page in the set should list all the alternates, including itself, so the relationships are reciprocal.
Limits
Generates the tags from the pairs you provide; it does not crawl your site to discover language versions automatically.
